It’s been a while since the last post, but that’s because the ePortfolio team has just been so busy! Here is an abbreviated list of what we’ve been up to:
- Launching the first ePortfolio Pilot Program in Spring 2010
- Introducing ePortfolios to over 600 incoming freshman at summer orientation
- Collaborating with Career Services to create helpful documents for students to use on ePortfolio
- Presenting at ePortfolio conferences at The Assessment Institute in Indiana, The College of Holy Cross and Boston
But perhaps the most exciting advancement is the university-wide access to ePortfolio accounts: As of late-August all faculty, students and staff can simply log into eportfolio.pace.edu with their Pace username and password to activate their account!
Since the university-wide implementation the number users has taken off. At the end of the Spring Pilot Program in May there were 250 users. That number has since multiplied to over 1,650!
Holding our first ePortfolio Teaching Circle has helped keep the momentum going. Almost 20 faculty members from various subjects are working with ePortfolios and discussing the pedagogical issues and strategies to use them in their courses next spring. Thanks to the Thinkfinity grant, another teaching circle will take place next spring! If you are interested in participating, send a message to our new email address, firstname.lastname@example.org!
